NEWS: Olin Welcomes Marc Johnson as Vice Provost of Student-Centered Institutional Effectiveness
A leader in translating student data into institutional insight, Johnson will help shape the Olin Learning Journey from the student's point of view.
Olin College of Engineering is pleased to announce that Dr. Marc Johnson (he/him) has joined the Provost's Office this fall as Vice Provost for Student-Centered Institutional Effectiveness.
Dr. Marc Johnson joins Olin College of Engineering as Vice Provost of Student-Centered Institutional Effectiveness.
In this newly created role, Johnson will help Olin deepen its understanding of how students experience learning, both inside and outside the classroom, and use those insights to shape decisions about the College's future. His work will center on viewing the Olin Learning Journey through students' own eyes, drawing on their feedback to help guide institutional strategy.
Johnson comes to Olin from Southern New Hampshire University, one of the country's largest providers of higher education and a leader in online learning. There, he led efforts to translate student data into actionable insight, identifying where students were thriving, where they were getting stuck and how the university could better support their success. He brings that same curiosity and rigor to Olin, ready to apply it to the College's distinct learning community.

A graduate of Morehouse College, Johnson earned his doctorate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has spent his career in higher education, motivated by the transformative impact college had on his own life and a commitment to giving students that same experience. He draws his energy from collaborating with faculty, staff and students in pursuit of the best possible college experience — a mission that drew him to Olin.
