Human Detection in Robotic Navigation

Amazon Robotics enlisted SCOPE students in exploring the space of classifying living and non-living beings, locating them, and understanding the vectors they’re heading using commercial-grade, consumer-grade, and custom-built sensing systems. The team is designing and testing different configurations of sensing platforms for use in dynamic environments, analyzing which sensing system combinations are poised to deliver the best precision to cost ratio in each setting.
