Decisions, Decisions...

Yesterday, we mailed out what felt like 8,000 decision letters. In reality, it was only a scant 790ish, but after printing, signing, labeling, checking and double-checking and triple-checking lists for three days straight, the mail-bins can seem disproportionately large!

As I've mentioned a zillion times before, this is my first application reading-season at Olin. What a whirlwind. I remember calling my mom on Friday right after being in Acceptance Committee for eight hours (EIGHT, I SAY) and crowing "Mom, there's a light at the end of the tunnel!" Silly me. Making our candidate decisions on Friday and then turning right around mailing everything out three days later... well, let's just say that I wasn't quite out of the tunnel yet. But now all the UPS envelopes are sealed up, the DHL delivery has been finished, and we're on to the fun part... planning Candidates Weekend.

On Friday, you should receive your decisions. Not only will you get them in the mail, but they will also be available on the Portal online. If you have any questions about this, email us at Otherwise, I simply want to say that as applicants, you blew it out of the water this year. Acceptance Committee was so difficult because if I'd had my way, all 800 of you would be on campus next year. We'd probably have to stick some of you in trailers for dorm rooms, but regardless!

Good luck, from the entire Office of Admission staff!
