Projects & Research at Olin

We’re willing to bet that the Olin campus has more projects going on per square foot than any other college. Our student body is relatively small, but our students’ imaginations are big, and our faculty are teeming with ideas—all of which come to fruition through research ventures, scholastic enterprises and extracurricular projects.

The Olin academic program consists of much more than traditional engineering courses. From their first day, students tackle actual engineering problems as part of a hands-on curriculum that flips the traditional “learn first, then do” model, in an exciting process of discovery and collaborative creation. Students are involved in research early on, and have the chance to conduct research with faculty. Olin professors conduct their own research as well, some of which is aimed at fulfilling the Olin mission of transforming engineering education.
