Position Title: Program Manager – Regional Partnerships

The successful Olin College Program Manager is someone who delights in helping her/his prospective donors realize the great satisfaction of moving the world by investing in Olin College’s faculty, students and programs.
The Program Manager – Regional Partnerships will be responsible for working with key trustees and others to identify and engage prospective major gift donors in the greater Boston area. The bulk of this individual’s efforts will be focused on significantly increasing financial support for the College from organizations and individuals, almost all of which will come from new philanthropic investors. The Program Manager is responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of prospects capable of gifts of $25,000 or more.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and communications skills, and a track record in building relationships across a spectrum of individual donors, including individuals in early stage cultivation, to achieve aggressive fundraising goals. Progressive fundraising experience, experience with diverse constituents, a drive to succeed, and the ability to strategize and close major gifts, appropriately utilizing volunteers and key members of the organization, should be demonstrated in your application. Candidates must have strong organizational, analytical and communication skills, and the initiative and ability to work independently.
- In collaboration with the Director of Development and utilizing Development, Family and Alumni Relations (DFAR) resources, create and execute an annual plan of work for the Greater Boston initiative including:
- Identification of organizations and individuals in the Greater Boston area, particularly along Route 128, whose interests generally appear to align with Olin’s mission;
- Development and implementation of an initial engagement strategy that identifies the specific interests of each organization or individual, especially as that program provides (1) C-suite networking opportunities where Olin is the convener, (2) access to Olin’s innovative thinkers, (3) Olin engagement opportunities, (4) access to Olin students via its capstone program (SCOPE), internships, summer research sponsorships and employee recruitment. Deeper engagement could include participation on the College’s advisory boards including trusteeship;
- Enlistment of key College assets, including trustees, other volunteers, executive leadership, and faculty;
- Use of current College programs and/or creation of a new program or programs that appropriately respond to the identified interests;
- Solicitation of financial support from those individuals and organizations interested in involvement with the College; and
- Delivery of promised benefits to those investing in the College.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Olin College of Engineering’s vision, mission, and curriculum in order to effectively articulate the College’s priorities and fundraising objectives to donors;
- Document all activity in the institutional advancement database. Ensure that prospect data discovered in the cultivation process is accurately entered and maintained in the college’s database;
- Work closely with key internal stakeholders to develop major gift strategies; including the College leadership as appropriate;
- Create and execute donor-specific stewardship plans for donors who have made major gifts, acknowledging their contributions, sharing the impact of these investments, and encouraging future involvement and investment;
Assist with the development and implementation of events focused on cultivating and stewarding major gift prospects and donors.
- Attend College sponsored events as appropriate;
- Develop or further develop and use the skills and behaviors associated with design thinking, systems thinking and team collaboration—hallmarks of Olin College;
- Continued professional development especially as it relates to the many aspects of the field of institutional advancement;
- Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree required;
• Minimum 5 years of successful professional experience in fundraising, business development, marketing, sales or related position interacting with high net worth individuals;
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with high net worth individuals;
• Strong commitment to and a broad understanding of the principles related to donor centered philanthropy;
• Ability to write and speak articulately and passionately about the values and opportunities related to philanthropic giving;
• Ability to set annual, monthly and weekly goals, plan causal actions, act, evaluate, adjust and regularly report progress toward goals;
• Experience using complex fundraising or sales database systems;
• Experience working in a collaborative work environment;
• Energy, work ethic, stamina, enthusiasm, and humility;
• Must be able to travel regularly to visit with prospective donors and to work occasional evenings and weekends.
