James E. Ashton
James Ashton is Chairman or Board Member of five private equity owned companies, including Creative Extruded Products of Dayton, Ohio, Command Alkon of Birmingham,Alabama, and Crown Health Care Laundry Services of Pensacola, Florida. He serves as an advisor to three medium size funded private equity firms. Dr. Ashton’s professional career includes executive positions at some of America’s leading companies, including FMC Corporation, Rockwell International and General Dynamics. From 1967-1982, he worked for General Dynamics, including a role as Vice President of Operations starting up the F-16 fighter plane, one of the country’s most successful weapons systems. He left General Dynamics after testifying before Congress about waste and mismanagement in the Trident Submarine Program. Ashton is a frequent speaker on the topics of project management, manufacturing management, and business ethics and integrity.
