Vincent P. Manno

Provost and Dean of Faculty
Professor of Engineering

Dr. Manno joined the Olin College of Engineering as Provost and Dean of Faculty in July 2011. Prior to joining Olin, Dr. Manno was Associate Provost and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Tufts University in Medford, MA where he continues to hold an adjunct faculty appointment. At Tufts, he also held appointments as Department Chair of Mechanical Engineering, Associate Dean of Engineering, and Dean of Engineering ad interim. He also worked as an engineer in the private sector and served as a U.S. Navy Senior Summer Faculty Fellow. His field of expertise is computational thermal-fluid dynamics including applications in power generation, electronics thermal energy management, and manufacturing processes. He has authored or co-authored more than 140 journal articles, conference proceeding papers and technical reports. He holds a U.S. patent and is a technical reviewer for several technical journals and government agencies. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Engineering Education’s Engineering Research Council as well as on its Engineering Deans Institute. He is also on the External Advisory Board of the Institute for Global Leadership of Tufts University. His areas of interest include Computational thermal-fluid dynamics, Power generation systems, Electronics thermal energy management, and Engineering curriculum development.
